• We also spent$ 9 billion on over the counter medicines for our pets
• 8 out of 10 dog and 2 out of 3 cat owners buy their pets a gift on their birthday.
• 63% of all American households have pets up nearly 10 since 1988.

 The average pet product buyer is a women, age 24-45, and without children.


What are they buying?  You name it clothes, toys, and obedience training. Not a whole lot different from a parent if you think about it.  It also appears that as households decline in children they are increasing in lavish pets.
